Meet Mark Ludlow.
My passion for photography started when I was 10 years old and introduced to my first camera, a Kodak Brownie, that was given to me by my grandfather that he picked up from a garage sale. I was very intrigued with the camera itself, the film, how it was processed and transformation into a print. I've been in the photo industry 45 years and self-taught, however there is always so much yet to learn.
During my college years I worked on the yearbook and newspaper staff starting as a staff photographer, rising to photo editor and eventually assuming the role of Yearbook Editor for the Rampway. I enjoyed developing film and spent hundreds of hours in the darkroom under the red light making prints, both in B&W and color. I spent time shooting professionally under my own company while pursuing my marketing degree from Georgia State University.
When I got married my wife and I were going to setup our own darkroom in our home. As time progressed, we saw the transformation from the traditional film era morph into the digital age which was bittersweet in many ways. The nostalgic smell of the photo chemicals, the anticipation of an image coming to life as you develop a print has faded away and been replaced with modern technology. The digital age has propelled photography and image creation to new levels that were once impossible.
By nature I am a people person which makes it so fun doing this kind of work. I look forward to the opportunity to meet you and capture some of life's moments for you, your family, or a friend.
